American Legion Post 139 College Scholarship

THE FIRST ANNUAL American Legion Post 139 Scholarship Program would like to award students of Local 139 veteran members who want to continue their education.

 ELIGIBILITY

Scholarship applicants must be a spouse, child, or grandchild of a Local 139 veteran member in good standing or a direct descendant of a deceased veteran member who was in good standing. Graduate school students are ineligible.

Leadership in school and civic activities

Extra-curricular participation

Academic achievement

Motivation to serve others

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Applications are available starting in April, and a complete application with an essay must be received by June 1, 2025. 

AWARD DATE

All scholarship applicants will be notified by mail in July whether they have been selected. Scholarship checks will be distributed to the winners at the August district meetings. In addition, scholarship recipients and members of their families will have their photographs taken at those meetings for publication in the fall newsletter.

Four scholarships will be awarded in the amount for $2,100 each in 2025.
